We need your help at the park! Celebrate Earth Day by working on some projects around the Discovery Center and in Black Hill Regional Park. Join us for a variety of projects which can earn Student Service Learning hours or come out to help because it just feels good to volunteer. Fun Food Fitness is a drop in summer program for youth in grades 1 through grades 8. The program partners with MCPS for nutritious lunches daily and recreation staff provide engaging activities such as arts, crafts, games and special events. Middle school students are welcome to join the Summer Soccer4Change soccer clinics each Wednesday during July 2024. Come learn new skills and receive soccer instruction from professionals before playing scrimmage games. Bring good energy, sportsmanship and a water bottle! Grab your board and gear (or use ours) for a fun evening of skateboarding at your local skate park. The Damascus CRC Teen Skate Jams are Fridays: July 11, 18 & 25. Music, snacks and skating challenges will ensure a great time. Need a little help practicing your skills or learning a new trick- skate coaches will be present to help. TeenWorks Volunteers is a volunteer program for Montgomery County residents who are in high school and at least 14 years of age that want to gain experience, learn job readiness skills, and give back to their communities, in a safe, fun, and supportive environment. Along with the hands-on experience, TeenWorks Volunteers are also invited to participate in various trainings on workforce development, positive youth development, and personal growth. TeenWorks Volunteers earn Student Service Learning (SSL) hours for their service.
