Explore Brookside Gardens from an artist’s perspective through different artistic techniques and various media each day. From painting to gardening, campers will unleash their inner artists to craft works of art inspired by horticulture and nature. Let us cultivate your children’s interest in the natural sciences with hands-on, inquiry based experiments and activities in a beautiful garden setting! Each day, campers will unlock the scientific mysteries found at Brookside Gardens through experiments, observations, games and more. Take action and understand our impact on climate and the environment in this week-long camp at Brookside Gardens. Each day will examine a different environmental issue through indoor and outdoor activities with a focus on actions you can take to make a positive change in the world around you. Campers will earn 10 SSL hours based on participation in the service component each day. It's a week of water-filled fun! Plan to get wet (and muddy) as we explore our bit of the Chesapeake Bay watershed. We’ll take daily trips to local creeks and streams and a Friday field trip to the Chesapeake Bay. We'll also spend time boating and fishing as we learn all about water, the plants and animals that live there, and how to better care for our watershed. Please note: the field trip day starts one hour earlier at 8 am. FOBH $320

Girls belong in nature, enjoying outdoor adventures! Join us for a girl-centered camp that will focus on outdoor explorations in hiking, fishing, geocaching, boating, and so much more. Spend camp days trekking the forests and hills in search of grand adventures and meet with professional nature girls who work and play outside. Each day will, no doubt, be an epic escapade with a great team of campers. FOBH $320

Join us for our action and service camp! Campers can earn service hours while making friends, learning new skills, all while having fun. We’ll kayak around the lakeshore picking up trash as we go, brainstorm ideas, and make improvements to our Nature Play Spaces, and work on other projects in Parks. Campers will also meet park staff from Pope Farm, Community Gardens, and other park units, learning about their jobs, and how they are working to improve Parks and our local environment. This is an awesome opportunity to give back to your community while having fun and practicing your stewardship skills. FOBH $320

Ready to take your Nature Girl Camp adventure to the next level? Then join us for an overnight camping adventure that will be full of exploration and discovery. The first day will be spent at Black Hill getting ready for our overnight adventure. Then on Tuesday we head out for a 4-day, 3-night camping adventure to Western Maryland where we will meet professional nature girls and have grand outdoor adventures. Campers must be comfortable sleeping outside in tents and contributing to group camping activities. Tents, meals, and transportation will be provided. FOBH $645

Join us for a week of nature adventures in Black Hill Regional Park! Let’s splish-splash in the creek, climb a tree, go fishing and hiking, maybe even build a fort. We’ll have lots of time for unstructured play so your nature kid can exercise their creativity while we explore the forest, meadow, and creeks having dirty, muddy, and nature-y fun! FOBH $320

Beat the heat this summer at the ice rink! This full-day camp includes a morning 30-minute group ice skating lesson and afternoon open skating time for practice. Lesson groups are organized by age and skating ability and no previous skating experience is necessary. We'll spend the rest of the day doing fun indoor and outdoor activities including crafts, board games, and fitness activities both indoors and outdoors. Rental skates are included in the camp fee for skaters who need them. Please bring comfortable athletic shoes, a non-perishable lunch (no nut products please), a reusable water bottle, and snacks to last for a full day of camp.

Prerequisite: Passed Hockey 2 or equivalent. If your child loves hockey, why not treat them to a week long hockey camp? This camp will focus on improving individual player skills and teaching game concepts. Skaters will have stations on skating, stick handling, shooting, passing as well as games to improve team play and strategy. Groups will be assigned according to skill level. Full hockey gear is required for camp including a mouth and neck guard. Rental skates are available for use during camp. Please bring athletic shoes for off-ice workouts, snacks, and a water bottle.

Our figure skating camps are designed for skaters ready to take their skills to the next level. Spend a week learning new skills with your friends including freestyle, theater on ice, synchronized skating, moves and artistry, and a variety camp. Please bring sneakers for off-ice workouts, snack, and a water bottle.

Skaters who participate in a Cabin John specialty hockey or figure skating camp in the morning may register and join the fun at our Summer Fun Ice Skating Camp in the afternoon! Campers will enjoy skating practice and games, outdoor activities, arts & crafts and more. Only open to campers registered for a hockey or figure skating camp in the corresponding morning. This camp will end at 5:00 pm. Please bring a non-perishable lunch (no nut products please), snacks and water bottle each day.

Think you have what it takes? In this action-packed adventure that closely follows a storyline, you and your friends must work together to survive in the wilderness. You'll build your confidence outdoors by meeting daily challenges to find food, water and shelter. Can you identify wild edible plants? Build a solar still to purify drinking water? Start a fire without matches? We'll learn together through fiercely fun games and collaborative activities.

We have a variety of camps for our younger explorers. At all of our preschool camps, campers will meet our animal ambassadors and engage in nature-based play and exploration. Campers must be fully toilet trained and able to dress themselves.

Summer Campers don't have to "age-out" anymore- now they can start learning responsibility and the skills necessary to become a confident and competent camp counselor. Camper Assistants will work with Naturalists and Counselors to develop leadership and group management skills. They will spend most of the day with younger campers, gaining experience with different activities from arts and crafts to nature exploration.

Get wet and go wild this summer with Creek Explorer's Camp ! This water world camp will explore the cool things happening near and in our local stream. Learn through games, demonstrations, experiments and play about the unique aspects of stream life and how to keep our streams healthy. Water shoes, a towel, and a change of clothes are required! Warning: You will get wet!

Hike a mile in a Naturalist's shoes! Spend a week learning what it's like to care for our live animal ambassadors, steward our gardens and stream, be a community scientist and an advocate for wildlife. Each day we'll learn through wildly fun games, imaginative play, and activities that give back to nature.

Learn about the natural world through crafts, stories, and hikes in this week-long nature camp for young children and their grown-up. Together we will go on hikes in the woods, use nets in the meadow to catch butterflies, and explore the creek. Register the child only - no fee for the accompanying adult.

Join us as we explore the C&O Canal by bike. We will start our 100-mile journey along the towpath in Paw Paw, West Virginia and travel east towards Harpers Ferry, West Virginia on this four day and three-night camp. We will be stopping along the way to learn about the natural and cultural history of the area. This is a physically demanding camp. Participants must be able to bike 30 miles a day with scheduled rest periods. Campers must provide their own bike, helmet, and attend precamp meetings. Tents, meals, and transportation are provided. NOTE: Camp runs from 8am Monday until 3:30pm on Thursday and includes three consecutive nights of primitive camping.

For youth that love exploring the natural world. All day, every day, we will be outdoors in nature. We will be hiking, kayaking, fishing, learning about the world of raptors, searching for treasure on a geo caching adventure, and much more. This camp is a great way to deepen your child’s understanding of and connection to the natural world.

Animal Friends Camp is designed specifically for preschoolers to foster their relationship with the natural world. Campers will romp through forests and meadows, befriend the animals of Meadowside Nature Center, and let their imaginations run wild in our nature play space! Each day will include opportunities for child-directed play, stewardship, and nature themed crafts and games. Children must be fully toilet-trained to enroll. Camp does not meet on June 19 due to holiday observance.
