Find out what it takes to be an archaeologist! Uncover the past as you look for clues past peoples left behind! Campers will discover how archaeologists piece together the evidence from the past as they investigate the landscape around them and participate in hands-on activities. Each week campers will go on a fieldtrip to a historical site.

Join the Montgomery Parks as we take to the road! Come with us as we explore the past around us. Experience the Underground Railroad Experience Trail at Woodlawn Manor Cultural Park in Sandy Spring, or follow in the footsteps of a Union soldier along the Potomac. Find out what it was like to live on a farm years ago. Prepare to be inspired by Josiah Henson at the Josiah Henson Museum in Bethesda! Fee includes admission to all museums. Want to become an awesome camp counselor and earn Student Service Learning (SSL) hours while learning? The first week of this two week program you will learn the basics in archaeological methods, get CPR/ First Aid Training, and practice creating and planning camp activities. The second week, you will dig into the real thing! You'll assist camp staff while you work with campers and have an opportunity to ask questions and get feedback in our counselors' afternoon roundtables.

2nd WEEK July 22 - 26, 2024 from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm

THIS CAMP IS FOR CHILDREN AND THEIR ADULT GUARDIAN. Hand in hand, adults and children will explore, laugh, play, and learn about the natural world. Arts and crafts, hikes, and story times will keep adults and children busy. Whether it’s a messy moment or animal movement warm-up, you and your little one will enjoy this introduction to nature summer camp!

Our figure skating camps are designed for skaters ready to take their skills to the next level. Spend a week learning new skills with your friends including freestyle, theater on ice, synchronized skating, moves and artistry, and a variety camp. Please bring sneakers for off-ice workouts, snack, and a water bottle.

Skaters who participate in a Cabin John specialty hockey or figure skating camp in the morning may register and join the fun at our Summer Fun Ice Skating Camp in the afternoon! Campers will enjoy skating practice and games, outdoor activities, arts & crafts and more. Only open to campers registered for a hockey or figure skating camp in the corresponding morning. This camp will end at 5:00 pm. Please bring a non-perishable lunch (no nut products please), snacks and water bottle each day.

For kids who want to try golf but don't want to spend all day at it, this great combo camp is a 50/50 split that will keep them interested all day long. With the help of a Montgomery County Golf Academy instructor, all campers will practice putting, chipping, driving, and using irons and woods at the Driving Range, and then on Friday, we will go to a nearby golf course to play a round of 9 holes. Golf equipment will be provided to those who don't have their own golf clubs. Each camper will receive professional instruction, tees, and Golf balls. In the afternoon, full-day campers will participate in group activities such as field games (examples: soccer, basketball, kick ball, etc.), mini-golf, and water fun at the South Germantown Splash Park. Please note that all activities will be held outside, and can vary depending on the weather. Bring a non-perishable lunch and snack, water bottle, sunscreen, bathing suit, and towel. Fee covers instruction, tees, golf balls, and transportation to the golf course on Friday. Don't want full day camp? Sign up for half-day camp and concentrate on golf!

Prerequisite: Passed Hockey 2 or equivalent. If your child loves hockey, why not treat them to a week long hockey camp! This camp will focus on improving individual player skills and teaching game concepts. Skaters will have stations on skating, stick handling, shooting, passing as well as games to improve team play and strategy. Each camper will receive a hockey jersey and will be assigned to groups according to skill level. Full hockey gear is required for camp including a mouth guard. Rental skates are available for use during camp. Please bring athletic shoes for off-ice workouts, snacks, and a water bottle.

Figure Skating Camps

Prerequisite: Passed Youth Ice Skating 4. Develop and improve your short track technique and racing skills in this speed skating clinic. Aspiring and current skaters will receive daily on ice training to improve skills, stamina, and strength with a professional US Speed Skating Coach. This half-day clinic also includes dryland training and conditioning to maximize the skaters development.

Skaters who participate in a Wheaton specialty hockey or figure skating camp in the morning may register and join the fun at our Cool Fun Ice Skating Camp in the afternoon! Campers will enjoy skating practice and games, outdoor activities, arts & crafts and more. Only open to campers registered for a hockey or figure skating camp in the corresponding morning. This camp will end at 4:30 pm. Please bring a non-perishable lunch (no nut products please), snacks and water bottle each day.

Join us this summer at the Wheaton Sports Pavilion for the camp of a lifetime! Each day, campers will enjoy the freedom of the outdoors by taking nature walks through the beautiful areas of Wheaton Regional Park. During the week, campers will participate in Public Skate Sessions at the Wheaton Ice Arena, enjoy fun scavenger hunts, ride on the Miniature Train and Carousel, and even take a field trip to the South Germantown Splash Park (weather permitting of course!). Campers will participate in traditional camp games and activities. Campers will be extremely active so plan to wear your most comfortable walking or athletic shoes!
