“Nature Engineer’s Club” - PMAY0030

In our Nature Engineer's Club, participants will learn about a real life engineering design or problem found in nature and using hands-on activities, and their own observation skills, design and build their own model or solution!

Water striders are small insects that are adapted for life on top of still water, using surface tension to help them “walk on water.” Our junior engineers will learn about the adaptations that water striders have to make this possible as we observe and catch some within Maydale’s stream and ponds. Using this information, they will then build their own models to see if they themselves can become true water striders and “walk on water”!
