Can You Design an Effective Water Filter?
In our Nature Engineer's Club, participants will learn about a real life engineering design or problem found in nature and using hands-on activities, and their own observation skills, design and build their own model or solution!
Healthy ponds, creeks, and lakes teem with wildlife. But many in our area unfortunately face pollution from local runoff, pollution which can impact the health and survival of animals who call them home. Our junior engineers will learn about water quality as well as the impact of pollution and runoff while observing Maydale’s ponds and creek and use what they’ve learned to design and build their very own water filtration system.
